Shelter — Poem

SHELTER

No longer can I descry it,
Oh shelter, shelter!
Were my hopes stellar
But the universe wiser?

Eons ago I lost it,
This place, my shelter!
My colors, my umber,
Where life seemed lighter.

My flights of fancy
There could abide
Though at times left me unsatisfied
In a world upside down.

Rooms of my dream,
With the notebooks piled
For my living soul would survive
Where the fantasy could beam.

Nineteen years,
A lifetime there
Vanished in the air
Through a nightmare.

Oh shelter, shelter,
I am longing for you!
Am I ever gonna find some place like you?
My shelter, my home, my dearest view.
